What is your favorite type of art? “My favorite type of art is murals. Lakeland is home to so many amazing mural artists! My favorite one would have to be the Goddess Mural by Gabriela Jaxon on the Thom Downs Antiques Building. The women in the mural projects so much confidence and power. It makes me smile every time I drive by!”

Zach / Progam Specialist

Who is your favorite artist? “My favorite artist is Jack ‘The King’ Kirby. He was a comic book artist that helped create a ton of the superheroes that are still popular today such as the Fantastic Four, Iron Man, and the Hulk. His style of ink art and coloring has influenced a lot of the comic art I’ve made myself.”

Blanca / Director of Early Learning

What is your favorite art to create our visitors?I love offering opportunities for young learners to create process-focused art. I particularly enjoy anything that involves feeling, touching, and experiencing different textures. Process art offers a way for young children to express their ideas and experiences while enhancing developmental skills.”
