What is your favorite type of art? “My favorite type of art is murals. Lakeland is home to so many amazing mural artists! My favorite one would have to be the Goddess Mural by Gabriela Jaxon on the Thom Downs Antiques Building. The women in the mural projects so much confidence and power. It makes me smile every time I drive by!”

Zach / Progam Specialist

Who is your favorite artist? “My favorite artist is Jack ‘The King’ Kirby. He was a comic book artist that helped create a ton of the superheroes that are still popular today such as the Fantastic Four, Iron Man, and the Hulk. His style of ink art and coloring has influenced a lot of the comic art I’ve made myself.”

Kiersten / Program Specialist

What is your favorite way to be creative? “My favorite way to be creative is crafting! I enjoy working with my hands, mostly on 3-D, tangible items. I love coming up with an idea I want to see come to fruition and being able to make it happen with various materials. It’s like a puzzle or brain teaser that there’s a million different ways to solve!”
